Toastmasters Leadership Institute 2

Posted on December 16, 2006 - Filed Under personal

Two weeks back I had to attend TLI2 to obtain points for my club. I was told that the meeting was going to be held at PJ and i was wondering how in the world could i even get there when there’s no direct public transport to the venue.

I called Bernard and he told how to get to the nearest PUTRA LRT station and he will pick me from there. Boy was it far and long. First i had to get to Sentral and from there take the LRT to Asia Jaya. It took me close to 2 hours.

When both of us reached there, the place was already filled with people. We found our table and waited for our next member, David to join us. At that point of time, David just left his house -_-” But he was quick as he arrived before they started.

The first half of the meeting was pretty boring actually. No offends to the people who had roles to educate us about the leadership qualities but it was a bit too old fashion. Nevertheless, there was one group who manage to capture my attention as they acted out during their presentation and eventhough it was amateurish but i loved it ! Hahaha and i am pretty sure the rest will agree because right after their presentation, everyone went back to their previous position.

What i meant by previous position is, they all faced down, looking sober. Can’t blame them though because we were all hungry ! I for one was so hungry that a horse wouldn’t even fill my stomach. I assumed that there would be lunch but found out later on that there’s only tea break.

We got so bored that we started taking photos of anything possible. David decided to snap the logo of Toastmasters International and I decided to snap his orange ‘bangle‘.

The second half of the meeting was great. We had Q&A session and we had a great panel as well as a creative moderator to answer all sorts of questions thrown to them. I wished the first half would have been as fun as that.
