Microsoft Windows Vista Hunt

Posted on February 5, 2007 - Filed Under Uncategorized

I was suppose to attend another event in Summit on Saturday but then this cropped out of no where. It was a spontaneous decision for me and rest to go to the Vista Hunt. What was at stakes ? 2 copies of Vista Ultimate with Bill Gates signature on it and there’s only 2000 copies in the world.

Anyway i went there without any worries about winning or losing. I joined just for the fun of it.

When we arrived there, there were so many people crowding the entrance of lowyat.

Everywhere you turn you could see people snapping photos and even the vista logo was a so called celebrity of the day. We all gathered in front of the stage at 5pm for a briefing on how the hunt is gonna go about.

Even at 5pm, there were still participants collecting their goodies and shirts. The ladies were kinda pissed as they kept yelling to be fast. Well i don’t blame them since we had the whole afternoon to do so and this people arrived just before the briefing started.

People just kept coming till everyone standing shoulder to shoulder. Our team kept discussing ’so called’ strategies and what to do in such a scenario.

Anyway let me introduce my team :P

Hui Mian - IT graduate, has a cert in S.A.P. Currently in DHL, not sure what’s her job there but it sounded like something to do with hardware ?

Bernard - IT graduate, has CCNA cert. Currently pursuing his Masters. Has knowledge in hosting and all those database thingy

David (sorry man, i couldn’t get a better shot. too tall ler) - soon to be Engineering grad. Did some robot thingy in the past. Knows how to ‘flash’ and about hosting.

So you can see we gathered all the talented people we could find, hahaha. Actually we just gathered for fun, nothing to do with who is good in what field. But it does sounds better introducing them like that :D

I would like to thank David for this picture. I made a fool out of myself for answering the question. We were asked name one event that’s going to happen during the launch and i knew one of it was dragon dance. So i raised my hands and got on the stage. When he repeated the Q, i proudly said ” LION DANCE”. I only realized i said the wrong answer when everyone started jeering at me …… ahhhhhhh potong stim. Some more it was shown on the big screen -_-”

We didn’t win anything and i wasn’t too happy with how the thing was organized. Though some clues were really way off my thinking capabilities, i would like to congratulate those who won.

On the bright side, i did sweat a lot and it was more like a workout to me.
