Photo Hunters - Funky

So this time the theme is FUNKY. The only thing that i have right now that resembles anything to FUNKY is the smell that was lingering around my university area thanks to the haze. Every morning i had to wake up to this funky smell and i had to endure for more than 2 weeks -_-
The visibility was less than a kilometer. The smell was bad enough and now i have to drive through the thick smoke.
The haze was so bad that, even when we are in the car we would have to wear surgical mask. Now is that funky enough ?

That’s bad! I can imagine the smell and it’s been years since I’ve been anywhere near anything like it.

it happens on a yearly basis. fortunately, this year wasn’t that bad. the picture was taken 2 years back

Ah, I can relate. Good, it’s rainy nowadays. Is it back? lol…wearing surgical mask to school, work, etc. is funky indeed. I experienced it too.
Ewww I know that feeling. We have alot of smoke haze around us at the moment. It smells. Happy weekend.

I’ve been in places where the smell is SOOOO funky, but there just wasn’t a way to photograph it. Love your photos.
Oh my, that’s very bad.. We used to have hazy days too, and we had to wear masks whenever we went out. A lot of people got sick during those days..
I’ve read all the comments and I am assuming it is pollution. Whatever it is, it’s awful. I’m sorry you have to live through that.

That was funky! I can’t imagine having to wear a surgical mask.

what was causing the haze and smell? That can’t be natural!
This year the haze wasn’t as bad as when the picture was taken, which was 2 years back. The cause is open burning in the neighboring country and this is done almost on a yearly basis. students will be advised to cut down on outdoor activities if the level reaches critical.

Interesting! I guess I am glad there are many definitions of funky. Glad the online dictionary is not complete in their definition. . . even so, I just couldn’t agree on the definition I “knew” as a younger person many years ago. Thus, i didn’t enter the photo hunt this week. I will be back next week — already have my choice.
