Klang Bak Kut Teh - Teluk Pulai
Posted on August 7, 2007 - Filed Under experience, food
Yesterday Bernard brought Chee Min and I to Klang for bak kut teh. Apparently, Bernard promised to bring Chee Min for the past 3 years but it never happened. Now that he is leaving for South Korea, he was adamant to bring him. That’s why lerrr, wait until last minute -_-” Hahaha.
I have never eaten Bak Kut Teh in the morning, let alone early in the morning. Back in Penang, i used to have BKT at night. So anyway, there’s a lot of hype about Klang’s BKT and i was really curious whether there’s any difference with the rest.
We were brought to Taman Rashna in Klang which is opposite Jusco, the left side of Federal Highway if you are going towards Klang. When we reached that area, i noticed every corner there’s one BKT restaurant -_-” Looks as though BKT originated from that area.
The restaurant that Bernard took us was called Teluk Pulai and with the photos of celebrities hung on the wall, i can say that place was quite well known.

Yao Char Kuai - Mmmmm i like to eat that alone, for breakfast

Tadaaaaa - 2 claypots and 2 plates of Yao Char Kuai (one is hidden)
Normally i don’t consume rice in the morning but today had to be an exception. It was the same for Chee Min. Bernard ordered the limb and it was really meaty. The soup was nice, didn’t have that strong herbal taste. I ended up eating more Yao Char Kuai than meat
I am just not used to eating so much meat -_-”
Next time i hope i can try Chi Kut Teh, hehehe. That’s Chicken Kut Teh. Lingster told me that there’s such thing as Dry Bak Kut Teh. Klang people are really improvising on their well-known Bak Kut Teh
