La Bodega Deli - Bangsar Village

La Bodega Deli
More than a month back, Lingster and i had the chance to eat at La Bodega Deli at Bangsar Village. It’s opposite Cat Whiskers and you definitely can’t miss it.

After going through the menu, i had no idea what to order and i boldly asked for suggestions from the waiter. In the end, we ordered 4 tapas and a main dish. Tapas are like appetizers and to be frank, the tapas are as good as having your main course :P that’s if you have a small fuel tank like mine -_-”

As i said, tapas are appetizers, so the four tapas came first.

La Bodega Deli
Bread

La Bodega Deli
Deep Fried Squid Rings - Calamares Fritos

La Bodega Deli
Button mushrooms sauteed in olive oil and garlic - Champinones al Ajillo

La Bodega Deli
Eggplant with olive oil, chilli and herbs - Berenjenas con Salsa de Pimientos

La Bodega Deli
Chicken sauteed in olive oil, garlic & parsley - Pollo al Ajillo

La Bodega Deli
I didn’t really like the eggplant. The chilli taste was just too strong for me. The other three tapas were really nice. The main dish was only brought after we were done with our tapas and on top of that, it takes time to prepare the main dish and they have clearly stated it in their menu.

La Bodega Deli
Prawns, chicken, mussels and clams cooked in paella with saffron rice - Paella Valenciana Mixta

My eyes literally popped out when i found out that the main dish was this much -_-” We had a hard time finishing it, so we ate all the prawns, chicken, mussels and clams and left the rice.

Overall, the food was really nice but if you had the choice to forgo the eggplant, just do it. It was a real torture eating it :P
