Decapitated Panda

That’s right people, last night a panda was sacrificed for my own personal gain. I know this sounds rather stupid but if you are lost and have no idea what i am talking about, let me brief you on what’s what.
Exactly a year ago, i joined a community of shouters whereby they convey their messages shouts thru an app which was developed by Lasker and Elise of PenangPenang.com. What this app does is, it displays live messages which are typed from any blog that has it. By doing so, one would have a so called instant chat messenger ala mIRC style in their blog. I was introduced to ShoutOut by Ai Ling and to be frank i had no idea what was it all about at first. All i could remember was she saying, just put that in your blog and see what happens 
Back then the community was barely a fraction of the people who participate nowadays. Of course nothing starts off with instantaneous hit, everything has to be taken in small steps ( ban ban lai ). So as the community grew, more features were added and one main feature was the shout count. Here in shoutout, the number of messages would be referred as shouts. Lasker came out with a scheme that will enable users to obtain animal icons by their name whenever they have reached a certain amount of shout counts.
Upon reaching 1000 shouts a butterfly will appear, a panda for 5000 and 15000 and above a dog and a tiger will appear for the girls and guys respectively. Here’s the thing, everyone who joins will take less than a few months to reach the panda but i on the other hand took my own sweet time which was one whole year. Come to think of it, that’s like 13.69 shouts per day
I never knew i was closing on to 5000 till Wendy pointed out to me
ShoutOut has been organizing numerous activities and i have only manged to attend 3 of it so far. The paintball was by far the best Of course the headshot and buttshot made it much more memorable. Put the activities a side, you definitely make lots of friends from all over Malaysia and some say Australia and Switzerland …. and Egypt
On the 16th of December, ShoutOut will be organizing a BBQ party near Golden Sands Beach over in Penang. So to those who would love to attend, do head over to Lasker’s blog for more information

I know this entry is a bit messy, simply because right now i have to rush over to KLCC to catch James Morrison ! Huhu.
p/s: The panda above was actually a bear from Wendy’s blog and since Lasker asked me to blog about me getting a panda, i had to like spray paint the poor fella and present it like that. Wendy hope you don’t mind -_-”
p/s: It took me one whole year to reach panda status, so tiger status would take another three years -_-”

One year or not the important thing is you stuck with a bunch of us since the beginning.
Looking back, last time was really really a fraction of Shouters as you said. Most of the time, it was only aL, you and me Shouting away .. haha.
Even then, we already had fun .. ya ya
Grats again, Satkuru, have a good 2008 and we’ll hopefully see a Tiger somewhere in 2008 ya?
