J.Co Donuts fetish. Are you one of them ?

Posted on March 11, 2008 - Filed Under food

Post-Election Fever: I have been asked numerous times on how i felt that now Penang is taken over by the Rocketeers. I am not really a big fan of politics but i have to say for this particular election, i was totally glued to the tv and certain sites that had live updates. Back to the question, in a way i am happy that there’s a change. At least now we will be able to see what they have to offer in the next few years to come. The sad thing is, i wasn’t part of the excitement for this election! -_-” I registered late and was told i wouldn’t be able to vote. What a waste. Like what David said, “You just missed being part of history”. Bummer …..

J.CO
Yes, i finally visited J.Co. After all the hype about how orgasmic their donuts could be, i had to try it for myself. I have tried J.Co before but i personally never took the time off to line up like all the other donut-lovers. So since it was a weekend and i had the whole afternoon to spare, i stood there like a donkey :P

J.CO
The line just kept growing and growing.

J.CO
Frankly i felt their service still has room for improvement and this is where Big Apple excels. It was my first visit and i had no freaking clue what i wanted. Obviously i took slightly longer than the rest but that doesn’t mean she (the lady with the brown cap) could give that stuck up face. I was close to telling her to shove those donuts up her …… nose. But then again, why bother.

J.CO
There’s so many flavours to choose from that some patrons break down immediately. Hahaha really sad case man this fella.

J.CO
After snapping a few pictures of them making donuts, i was told by the brown capped girl that i was not allowed to do so. What the fish was wrong with her, there were like tonnes of others busy snapping away and i was the only one told that i can’t. Probably they should install blinders instead of having the see-through glass at their kitchen. Real donkeys.

J.CO
I bought half a dozen and i am already a step closer to diabetes @.@ Comparing J.Co to Dunkin Donuts, i would definitely go for J.Co anytime. Their texture and flavours wins hands down without a doubt.

    Hey, Satkuru

    How are you?

Aiisseeyy, Its like full house, man! I never tried J.C. Donuts. I have not seen one in my life. I guess I must go out more often. Lol. You took the photos using auto or you play with settings manually? Your photos looks underexposed. Perhaps you want to try increasing the exposure compensation on your camera.

    Hi, Satkuru

    How are you?

Full house, never mind, ahh. Anyway, I would go to see the ladies. Yeah, I’m thinking of owning an Olympus e510, man. Its good value for for money. Price gone down hundreds of MYR since six months ago. You see, I am a budding photographer too! :-D

Nice review. I would suggest you to send your complaint to the J.CO Donuts Malaysia, at hello@jcodonuts.com.my and those not well behaved staffs could get some reminder.

If people are not allowed to take picture of them preparing the donuts, why in the first place use the open kitchen concept. That particular staff need some lecturing.

Taking pictures of them preparing the donuts will not like revealing their secrets or whatsoever.

Anyway, J.CO Donuts is really great, despite lacks in some franchisee skills in maintaining the standards of the service and quality. Proper and more training needed.

Ain’t a *big* donut fan but I’ve tried both J.CO & Big Apple. My fav is the ‘oreo’ one.
My picky cousin actually said there’s no difference in taste between the 2.
PS: queue in Sunway is *normally* much shorter than Pavilion
PSPS: Big Apple’s cheaper than J.CO

    mrcoolku: go try man :D

eastcoastlife: yeap yeap last time i used to hear ppl bringing it back from indonesia :P

Hahaha… I like this post man. I got told off too when I tried snapping photo with my phone the first time I went to J.co in Pavilion. Sigh. I was at a J.Co outlet in Indonesia last week and they really had signages that say no photo-taking.. behind the glass where they prepared the donuts.

  19. satkuru on March 31st, 2008 10:42 pm

narrowband: quite frustrating ler that time. i mean there were easily 5 more fellas snapping and i was the only one told off @_@
