Bali Day 1: Monkeying around in Uluwatu and Jimbaran

After GWK (Garuda Wishnu Kencana), we were ferried to South Western part of Bali. Uluwatu was the next stop and i have always seen pictures of the temple (Pura Uluwatu) at the edge of the cliff. This place is 70meters above the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean. If you have read my previous entry, you would have noticed in one of the videos where Yoga (our guide) had told us that the temples here are strict when it comes to ladies who have their monthly thingy. The other missing part that he also mentioned was about our attire. To enter the temples, one would need to put on sarung ( a cloth which is like 1.5meters in length. The main idea of such a rule is to cover your legs. Those with long pants would bypass this.   Just when we were getting all excited with the Sarungs, it started drizzling. Huge droplets of water came down from heavy looking clouds above us. Yoga quickly gathered us and brisk-walked to the edge of the cliff before the rain got any heavier. Already walking under the rain with my DSLR was hard enough, we had to pass through a few

Sony Music Facebook Page

Published by in music on June 17th, 2010

I am sure many of you here, if not all are fans of certain music out there. Personally i don’t have a favourite genre in particular. Since music is a universal language, i listen to many different languages. English, Malay, Chinese, Indian songs, just to name a few. Lyrics have their value if you understand well in the language but unfortunately my proficiency in both my mother and father tongue is dreadful. So the best i could do is appreciate the tune, lol In this generation, every information is pushed out to users like me and you via the internet and to be more precise, social media networks like Facebook and Twitter. Sony Music Malaysia joined the bandwagon by having their very own Facebook Page. There’s definitely perks of being a fan of their page. Off and on Sony Music Malaysia gives out freebies like CDs, notepads, any sort of merchandise. The most recent one where people were going gaga (no not like lady gaga) but i mean go crazy were the Glee giveaways. There are more to come in the future i am sure, so stay in touch with Sony Music Malaysia by liking their group One of my

Bali Day 1: We felt like hobbits in Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Our flight from Jakarta was on time. So after less than 24 hours, we were off to Bali. For those who have no idea on how far is it, imagine this. Java island is the main part of Indonesia. Yogyakarta is slightly at the middle, probably more to the west. Jakarta is at the far west of the island. Bali on the other hand is an island at the far east. It’s so far that the time there is +1 from Jakarta, lol. Most of us if not all, knocked out as soon as the flight took off. The next thing i knew was Angeline waking me asking if i wanted to eat as the stewardess were selling their onboard food. Flying from Jakarta to Bali, we were onboard AirAsia Jakarta and so they have certain food that aren’t available on the Malaysian flights. So we tried the different variety they had and they were definitely delicious! After filling our stomachs, i could barely sleep and started meddling with all the ridiculous apps i had on my iPhone. Before i knew it, the captain announced that we were landing shortly. Finally, BALI ! The Bali airport reminded me of Penang

Check your change before you leave

Published by in penang on June 6th, 2010

It cost me 60 cents to park for an hour near Sunshine Square and i handed over 1 ringgit. The change of 40 cents was returned and i rushed off as i had another appointment. Little did i know that instead of getting 40 cents, i had 1 x 20cents coin and 1 x 1 rupee (Indian currency). I only found out about it when i returned home. Both coins had similar sizes, they only differ by weight and that’s how i realized when i was emptying my pocket. Based on today’s exchange rate: 1 rupee = 0.06988 MYR that’s less than 7 cents. So it’s about 27 cents. My mum then told me that some parking attendants return coins in rupee or baht, so just double check before leaving. It might only be 13 cents to some of us but it could be a lot if it was multiplied. Lesson learned -_-! On a side note: I received a package from overseas a couple of days ago and i was ecstatic ! Will write about it soon
