Launch of Penang Affordable Homes Scheme Registration Exercise
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng announced that the Launch of the Penang affordable homes scheme registration exercise will commence on Feb 7, 2013.
Penangites can register at three locations, i.e. PDC Office in Bayan Baru, MPSP in Bandar Perda and at Level 3, Komtar.
The registration counters will be opened even during the Chinese New Year holidays.
Upon reaching there were about 5 people before me and we were all given numbers. No less than 15 minutes, more people came in and sat.
Sharp at 9am, the first 5 people were called in and they were shown the plans and the township of Batu Kawan.
We were then given forms to fill in our interest. Take note, this form is not the form that guarantees you the property. Once you have been short listed, then you will be informed.
Batu Kawan PDC project is expected to finish later next year or early 2015. The whole project looks promising and it reminded me on how Bayan Baru used to be.
Probably this place would take off in 10-15 years time, even though its near the 2nd Penang Bridge.
Personally i think the 2nd Penang Bridge would not have an immediate impact as most traffic that uses the current Penang Bridge are from the north side of Butterworth.
I was more interested in the Jalan SP Chelliah PDC project and the pricing was quite interesting.
800 sqft for RM200,000 – RM250 per sqft
900 sqft for RM300,000 – RM333 per sqft
1000 sqft for RM400,000 – RM400 per sqft.
There’s no ETA on this particular project yet as PDC will still need to submit the plans to the council for approval.
