The Chronicles of Cambodia 8: The Cambodian Full Body Massage

On our final day, we made a stop at one of the orphanages with respect to Wen Yan’s request. Wen Yan who is Angeline’s ex uni mate was in Cambodia a few weeks before us but she didn’t have the chance to donate. So in return, we were commissioned to carry out her task, lol. Of course giving cash wouldn’t be the ideal thing. We instead went to a nearby market to buy 100kgs of rice. The seven of us too chipped in to round up the cash so we could get 100kgs. Siya then brought us to this orphanage which was quite near to the place we stayed. We arrived without informing their caretaker as there weren’t any phone in the house and so he curiously greeted us. We mentioned our intentions and he gladly brought us around the compound. It was like a mini-tour. They have a small classroom in the compound and also their own farm for them to grow their vegetables. We were also shown the rooms of the children and it was definitely small judging from the amount of children that gathered in front of us. Besides that, one of the girls was diagnosed HIV+.

Sui Wah to Hennessy to Flash Bang

Coming from a closely-knitted family and being always stuck in front of the computer all day long, i never liked clubbing. In fact the ones in Penang are usually in town and i was living on the other side of the island, … in a kampung … … called Kampung Jawa. The most happening place in Kampung Jawa was this mini mart called Sui Wah and that’s it. I grew up and left for my degree, Sui Wah grew up and it’s now Sunshine Square, still the most happening place around Kampung Jawa. Shifting to Melaka and KL to further my studies did open my eyes big big, well it depends on how you interpret my sentence. I think i have gone to pubs and clubs in KL more times compared to Penang. Actually in Penang i have only gone once … -_-” That also my friend drank my share of the beer, swt.

Penang, Skytrex, Penang, Penang

These past few weeks i have been busy with traveling up and down from Penang and KL that i have neglected my blog for quite sometime. Somehow or rather, i still managed to slip in an entry or two before it starts piling up like a few months back. Last Thursday, William and i attended the relaunching of Zouk which was under renovation for quite sometime. There was a huge crowd waiting at the entrance though there was a light shower and once the opening act was done, everyone rushed in I even met a couple of former course mates and we all rolled together since one of them is familiar with the place. We left close to 1am plus. … the following day i was off to Penang to meet up with MMU’s hockey team to snap a few pictures for them. As much as i try not to return home often but for some reason, i just love being at home especially ever since my bed over here is kinda pointless. It’s as good as sleeping on the floor. Ever since i shifted i have tried to find reasons to be back in Penang Same goes for this

In a different timezone

It’s not easy adjusting your body clock when everything has been changed upside down. Night becomes day, day becomes night. All this will last for another week before i head back to Penang. Life here isn’t that all wonderful especially when the sun sets. Weather is always on the extreme. If it’s cold, it’s eye popping cold and if it’s hot, it’s scorching hot. Everything closes early and don’t get me started with the food. The food is either too oily or they just don’t taste right which has resulted me in storing tonnes of biscuits and loaves of bread. Things aren’t cheap either. From simple house chore equipments to books, all overpriced. If only i had a car, i would be terrorizing the roads like a maniac. Hahaha. Most of them drive big cars over here and some take it to the next level by pimping their rides … and if you are lucky enough, you would see one of these … … that’s right … a Kembara If you haven’t known already … welcome to … Putrajaya William called me out last night and after having dinner, we decided to run riot around Putrajaya. Too bad there weren’t
