I am with no fashion sense

Published by in fashion on August 27th, 2010

Last week i made a surprised trip back to Penang for Angeline’s birthday. She didn’t even believe i was back in Penang until i checked into the airport via foursquare. She was already on her way back when i arrived. I met up with her on Saturday and as usual i picked up whatever shirt i had on top of the pile to be worn. Bad mistake. When i was in her home waiting for her to get her things ready, she was all dressed up. I mean really really dressed up. What i had on? A pair of jeans and a black shirt that says, Hard Rock Casino London. “You are not walking with me in that hideous shirt!” she said. She didn’t really say that actually lol. What she did say was, “Why are you wearing that cacat shirt? We are going out for my birthday right?”. I felt bad. “What if i drive back home and change into another shirt,” well that’s what i thought i should have said. But instead … “This shirt not nice? Ok we go to Gurney Plaza and i will buy a shirt on the spot” i said, thinking she would mellow

Bali Day 3: Ben Chong has a different meaning in Bali

We headed back to Sri Ratih Cottage after dinner on the 2nd night. We were all free to do anything for the night and so the guys and got into the pool. The ladies on the other hand decided to stay dry and conquered the lobby area hogging their wifi spot; facebook-ing, tweet-ing. It’s like as though we were the only residents in the whole cottage. We all went back to our rooms after an hour or so for a good night’s sleep. The next morning we had our complimentary breakfast before heading to Kuta Beach for our final night. I realized i left out pictures of the rooms in Sri Ratih Cottage. Here they are The rooms are very spacious, in fact too spacious lol. Good thing if you have big backpacks like us cause you can just lay them anywhere. Same goes with the bathroom. There’s just ample of space in the room. Never bothered checking what channels were available cause i immediately dozed off once i got onto the bed.

I paid 9 Chicken McNuggets for a date

Published by in personal on April 14th, 2010

It was the eve of my birthday and i had just flown back to Penang to spend some time with my family and also Angeline. I haven’t slept the day before because of some last minute datelines and just before i called it a day, i received a message. Not from a usual sender. !!!!!! ROFLMAO!

Yogyakarta Day 1: The nightlife laughter that haunts you

Very often i would read other people’s experience in Indonesia but rarely they would document the night life and in this case Jogjakarta a.k.a Yogyakarta’s night life. A few weeks prior to our departure date, i tried looking up google for any pictures or videos on the Jogjakarta at night but to my avail there were barely anything. Probably because there’s basically nothing to show other than the typical night markets that are scattered all around town. Fortunately for us, when we were dropped in the middle of the town there were quite a number of things that were going on. First off there was a movie shoot and on the other end of the road there’s their local funfair. We headed towards the night markets in search of light snacks.

Wacoal Sensuala – Lingerie Party

Published by in fashion on February 10th, 2010

Last month Wacoal had a Calendar Girl launch for their new line called Sensuala. 14 girls were chosen to be part of this Calendar launch where only 12 girls will be featured. All 10 passes will be reserved under your name and may be collected at our guest registration area on the same day before the event at Mist Club. Thank you and see you there. Evie and Aaron reached first, followed by me. The rest only came after 30minutes or so. The event itself didn’t start on time and most of us just lingered outside. I finally met up with Diese, Simon and Dennis, who were all once upon a time under Malaysian Dream Girls. It has been almost a year since MDG ended and to my surprise, Wacoal Sensuala event is also the same management. I met the crews again and non of them changed a bit, lol.

The Chronicles of Cambodia 7: Angkor Wat & Amazon Angkor

I suddenly had the inspiration to blog about Cambodia again after Chiaw Yin passed a very random statement over on Facebook. “Mr Shiya is very good”. I was cracking my head on who is this fella and why is she telling me this. Then it clicked me ! Mr Shiya aka Siya was our tourguide in Siem Reap and i used to call him as Ya. I knew Chiaw Yin was in Siem Reap not long ago but i never knew she also got him as her guide. The best part was, she said he still remembers me ! ^.^ But to be frank, he is one hell of a guide, to be honest. Though we occasionally teach him the wrong things in Hokkien, hahahaa. I really hope the guide i am getting in Indonesia would be as good and enthusiastic as Siya Back to my writing, I am still in 3rd day of Siem Reap of the 4 days we were there. The picture above shows a note from one of the kid saying she isn’t well to do and she supports the family by selling books. The thing about the kids, they really look pitiful but if you

Garden Cafe 1 Utama

Published by in food on February 26th, 2009

More than a month back, i was in 1 Utama trying to get myself a pair of Puteri Gunung Ledang tickets when i came across this place. At one glance it reminded me of Full House in Niu Ze Xui. Jess and Steven were with me that time and they told me it’s a new place and it’s handled by the Mei San‘s sister who so happened handles Full House too. That was the first time i have seen Garden Cafe and the second time was when i met up with a few of the Malaysian Dream Girl Contributors. Debra told me that the service was bad when she dropped by not too long back. If my memory serves me well, she said she ordered for lamb and she got something else. They did change to her actual order but of course the mood was already gone by then. Last weekend i had the chance to be in at the Garden Cafe, courtesy of Mei San and her sister. It’s located near Studio R at the new wing. I was there with Jess, Steven and William. The others who came by were Johnathan, William Diong, Denise and Xin Wei.

Full House NZX Ara Damansara

Published by in food on November 27th, 2008

I was rushing for things to be done when Jess messaged me asking where should we celebrate William‘s bday as well as Angeline‘s farewell. She threw in a couple of ideas before i told her that i saw this entry written by Crystal that caught my attention. I had no idea where was this place and asked Jess if that would be ideal and that’s when i found out that she had being going there so often that it was like her second home. ok i made that up. But anyway, we decided to go there and after searching for directions via google maps, we found out NZX or better known as Niu Ze Xui was somewhere near Angeline’s place. I called up to make a reservation and was greeted with a rather disorientated waiter who sounded like he had no clue on what he had to do and asked me to hang on -_-!

Beauty & the Beast and Istana Budaya

Published by in food, outing on July 16th, 2008

So after committing myself to attend a musical which i had no idea how it would be like since this was my first, the day finally came and boy was i surprise on how a musical could be as entertaining as the movie if not better. It was Beauty and the Beast and i thought what could probably go wrong since i loved the cartoon. Hours before leaving for the show, my hopes were shot down when i was told that this musical isn’t highly acclaimed in other countries but i think in the end it all comes down to personal preference. Anyway that’s besides the point. The show was awesome in short.

Dunhill brought classical music to my ears

Published by in outing, penang on June 24th, 2008

Just got back from Redang and i am still swaying around as though i am still at sea @_@ I was never a fan of classical music and i remembered how my dad used to play the cds that he got from Reader’s Digest and i would go bonkers. In fact at times i would show tantrums *the joy of being a kid* just to get the song changed or the cd player switched off. But all that slowly changed and i started to appreciate classical music but not to the extend where i go gaga over it. During my younger years i remembered how much time i wasted sitting in front of the tele box watching shows after shows on either tv1, tv2 o tv3. There’s one particular session where i definitely wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world and that’s the Dunhill Double BlockBuster. Every Thursday and Friday i will be glued to the tele watching what ever they had to offer and i tell you those movies were top notch, i mean for that time ler. It brought the world of time traveling to me and it made a strong impact that i even asked my
